Fraud Center

Keeping your accounts secure is SEFCU’s top priority, but there are also steps you can take to keep your information safe.  

Remember, SEFCU will never contact and ask you to provide

  • Your debit/credit card Personal Identification Number (PIN) or card number
  • Online banking or Mobile app login information (username or password)
  • Your full Social Security Number
  • Your DIAL PIN
  • Your mobile wallet passcode (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.)
  • Your driver's license number
  • A verification code of any kind
  • Information or ask you to reset any PIN, password, or passcode
  • Your member number or account number(s)

If you suspect fraud on your account, or if you provided your private information to an unknown party, you should immediately do the following

  • Review your account activity 
    • If you notice unexpected or unauthorized debit/credit card activity - notify us 24/7
    • If you notice money being withdrawn or transferred from your account - report it to us

To prevent fraud, below are some important steps that you should take

  • Register for Card Management and decide when, where, and how you’d like your SEFCU debit and/or credit cards to be used
  • Enroll in Text Alerts and set up alerts for unusual activity
  • Consider enrolling in IDProtect or another monitoring service
  • Activate Mastercard SecureCode for your debit/credit card(s)
  • Regularly monitor your account activity and immediately report unusual or unexpected activity 
    • Some fraud reporting does have reporting time frames that could limit your ability to recover losses
  • Keep your contact information up to date 
    • Make sure your phone number, email address, and physical address are always current
